Gale-force winds leave thousands without power in eastern Canada

More than 8,000 households and other establishments in the Canadian Atlantic province of Newfoundland and Labrador have been left without electricity due to the onslaught of gale-force winds, Report informs via CTV channel.

According to the National Weather Service of Canada, wind gusts in some areas have reached speeds of up to 28 meters per second (100 km/h). The severe weather conditions are also accompanied by heavy rainfall.

As of now, there have been no reports of injuries or casualties resulting from the current storm.
