French parliamentarians skip parliament sessions citing fatigue

Members of the lower chamber of the French parliament complain about fatigue amid government's demands to consider as many bills as possible before the end of the summer session on July 23.

Report informs that BFMTV channel aired footage from the French parliament session showing empty seats.

Only 72 out of 577 parliament members were present.

"Yes, we are tired. But what is more important is that we are morally tired," Adrien Clouet, a deputy from the left party "Unsubdued France", told the TV channel.

He noted that deputies work 10-15 hours a day on amendments and bills, "but the government does not listen to anything."

Among the major bills that President Emmanuel Macron promised to consider before the end of the summer session is a text to rebuild buildings destroyed in riots sparked by the death of a teenager in Nanterre, shot dead by police. President Macron ordered to consider it urgently.
