French government: Macron’s inauguration to take place on May 7

French government spokesman Gabriel Attal has confirmed that the inauguration of re-elected President Emmanuel Macron will take place on May 7, Report informs referring to RIA Novosti.

On April 27, the French Constitutional Council officially approved Macron’s re-election as President of the Republic, his new mandate will begin on May 14.

On April 24, the second round of the presidential elections took place in France. Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen competed for the presidency. According to the final data of the French Constitutional Council, Macron received 58.55% of the vote, Le Pen - 41.45%.
