France seizes Russian ship carrying vehicles over violating sanctions regime

The customs of the French region of Normandy seized Saturday a commercial vessel carrying vehicles to St. Petersburg under the Russian flag.

Report informs that the Le Figaro newspaper writes that it probably belonged to a Russian company that fell under EU sanctions against Moscow.

Customs and gendarmerie boats escorted Baltic Leader vessel to Boulogne-sur-Mer. The cargo ship was transporting vehicles and left Rouen bound for St. Petersburg. The customs are currently investigating its possible involvement in the violation of the new EU sanctions regime, the prefecture says.
