France begins trials of new COVID vaccine

French biotechnology company Xenothera has begun clinical trials of its coronavirus vaccine, Report informs with reference to TASS.

The vaccine is named Xav-19.

The vaccine testing program follows Polycor standards, one of 15 types of clinical trials of drugs approved by the French medical authorities. The trial will be carried out in 40 hospitals in the country, coordinated by the University Hospital of Nantes.

The drug will be tested on 400 volunteer patients. Currently, 67 patients from 21 hospitals are participating in the trial.

The tests are supposed to determine the level of vaccine effectiveness with great accuracy.
