Founder of news agency in Mexico shot dead

The Mexican journalist Fredy López Arévalo was assassinated in San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas when he arrived at his home.

López Arévalo died of firearm shots after being intercepted by a man when he arrived at his home aboard his car.

Fredy López Arévalo was a correspondent for El Universal in Guatemala in the 1990s.

He also worked for the Panorama magazine that circulated in Central America and was in charge of the Notimex office in Chiapas, to later work as head of information in the newspaper Novedades, although he also published some texts in the magazine Proceso.
