Former Kyrgyz president charged with masterminding unrest

Kyrgyz law enforcement presented two more charges to former President of the country Almazbek Atambayev - masterminding mass unrest in Bishkek and attempted coup in early October last year, lawyer of the former head of the Kyrgyz government Sergey Slesarev told TASS, Report informs.

"Atambayev was notified of suspicions of masterminding mass unrest in the capital city in early October last year and attempted coup," he said. The lawyer noted that the former president was in custody on the first day of unrest and physically could not take part in masterminding unrest.

The former head of the presidential administration, Farid Niyazov, former guard of the ex-president Kanat Sagymbayev, and former deputy minister of internal affairs Kursan Asanov, also appear in this case.
