Finland's president signs refugee expulsion law

Finnish President Alexander Stubb has signed the Refugee Expulsion Law into effect.

Report informs via TASS that the legislation is set to come into force on July 22, 2024.

The law will remain active for one year.

The signing comes on the heels of dramatic scenes in the Finnish Parliament, where activists opposing the bill stormed the building, disrupting discussions.

Interestingly, Finnish authorities have hinted that the implementation of this law could pave the way for reopening border crossing points with Russia.
