FBI raids homes of NYC's acting police commissioner Thomas Donlon

The homes of New York City's newly appointed Acting Police Commissioner, Thomas Donlon, were raided by federal authorities just a week after he assumed office.

Donlon himself confirmed the news to CBS News, stating that the FBI had obtained search warrants for his residences.

"Federal authorities... secured warrants to search my homes. They seized materials that came into my possession approximately 20 years ago and are unrelated to my work at the New York Police Department," Donlon revealed.

Prior to his current role, Donlon led the FBI's National Threat Center and served as the head of New York City's Department of Homeland Security. He was also involved in investigating major terrorist attacks, including the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and the 1998 attacks on US embassies in Africa.
