China's Chongqing canteen explosion and collapse kills six

The death toll in the collapse of a canteen in Chongqing Municipality in southwestern China has risen to six, Report informs citing Xinhua news agency.

Rescuers managed to extract 15 people from the rubble, six of whom died. Currently, 11 more people, trapped under the rubble, are being searched.

The incident occurred on Friday in the urban area of Wulong. Presumably, the cause of the collapse of the building where the dining room is located was a gas leak and explosion. A TV channel also reported that there were at least 20 people under the rubble.

An explosion has hit the central city of Chongqing in China, Report informs referring to the China Central Television.

According to available information, an explosion occurred in the Wulong district, as a result of which people were trapped under the rubble, their number is still unknown.

Emergency services are already working at the scene.
