The fight against coronavirus, energy prices, the EU-NATO cooperation, as well as the situation on the border between Russia and Ukraine will be discussed at the EU summit in Brussels on December 16, European Council President Charles Michel wrote in an invitation letter to European leaders, Report informs citing RIA Novosti.
"The coronavirus remains at the center of our attention: the emergence of new variants, vaccinations and revaccinations, the fight against misinformation... We will also consider the rise in energy prices and their impact on our citizens and businesses," Michel said in his address.
The last EU summit in 2021 will be held on December 16 in Brussels in a full-time format. It will be preceded by the EU-Eastern Partnership summit on December 15.
Among the topics for discussion of the European leaders, as Michel noted, there are also issues of security, migration, preparations for the Africa-EU summit on February 17-18 next year.
