European Commission plans to soften rules for recognition of Ukrainian driving licenses

The European Commission (EC) plans to develop pan-European rules, according to which the entire community will recognize the driving licenses issued in Ukraine, Report informs, citing TASS.

According to the rules adopted in Germany, a driver's license obtained outside the EU is valid for six months, then you need to enroll in a driving school, retake the exam and receive a local certificate.

The MP from the Left Party asked the Cabinet of Ministers if it was planned to cancel this rule for Ukrainian refugees. The European Commission intends to conclude an agreement on road traffic with Ukraine, which, among other things, will provide for the temporary recognition of driver's licenses and certificates of qualification for freight transport, the government's response says.

More than 800,000 refugees from Ukraine arrived in Germany after February 24.
