EU not to change vaccination plans due to supply issues

The European Commission (EC) has asked AstraZeneca for clarification after the company reported a reduction in COVID vaccine supply to the EU countries. The commission noted the importance of carrying out supplies according to the agreed schedule, an EC rep said at a briefing, Report informs with reference to RIA Novosti.

Stella Kyriakides, the European Commissioner for Health, has written a letter to the company asking for "clarification," the EC rep said.

He also noted that in the current situation, it is vital to supply vaccines under the schedule established in the contract between the company and the European Commission.

According to him, the EU will not change plans for vaccinations due to delays in vaccines' supply.

The Bild tabloid earlier reported that the pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca would delay the coronavirus vaccine supply to the EU countries.
