EU finance ministers agree on 5 billion euro loan to Ukraine

Participants of an informal meeting of the heads of the Ministries of Finance and Central Banks of the EU member states agreed on Friday in Prague to provide Ukraine with 5 billion euros as a loan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Slovakia Igor Matovic told reporters.

"We agreed to provide Ukraine with 5 billion euros as a loan," he said. This amount, according to Matovic, will cover the financial needs of Ukraine within one month.
