EU extends sanctions against Russia until February 24, 2024

The Council of the European Union has extended sanctions against Russia until February 24, 2024, Report informs, citing foreign media sources.

Since the end of February 2022, the EU has introduced nine packages of sanctions against Russia.

These restrictions include trade, financial, and personal sanctions. Currently, 1,386 individuals and 171 legal entities are subject to sanctions.

Earlier, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, had announced the tenth package of anti-Russian restrictions. According to her, sanctions worth more than 10 billion euros will affect exports.

Furthermore, the representatives of the EU countries have planned to finally approve a new package of restrictions against Russia at a meeting on February 22.
