The Estonian Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority (TTJA) closed access to 53 domains through which it was possible to watch Russian TV channels banned in the European Union, Report informs with reference to TTJA.
TTJA has informed the country's internet providers about the ban.
Kristi Talving, TTJA Director-General, noted that according to surveys, the mention of Russian channels as an important source of information has decreased over the year from 33% to 11%, and trust in them declined from 40% to 18%.
Talving also noted that the broadcasting of 50 Russian TV channels has already been banned in Estonia and access to 80 sanctioned sites has been restricted.
