Egypt sees highest COVID death rate

The highest COVID death rate since July 2020 has been recorded in Egypt, Report informs citing TASS.

Over the past day, 71 people have died of complications caused by the disease, which is an anti-record for the last 16 months.

According to the country's Ministry of Health and Population, the number of new cases of infection detected daily is also growing. Over the past day, 960 new cases have been registered, compared to 941 the day before. In total, since the beginning of the pandemic, Egypt has recorded 346,800 cases of infection, and 19,707 people have died.

On November 15, a decree banning the admission of civil servants to their workplaces without vaccination came into force in Egypt. Students and teachers without coronavirus vaccine aren’t allowed to university campuses, either.
