The European Commission (EC) has allocated 1.69 billion euros for the implementation of a project to develop the military transport infrastructure of the EU until 2027, EU Commissioner for Transport Adina Valean said, Report informs with reference to foreign media.
The new plan will allow EU countries to transport military equipment faster and increase the volume of weapons transported.
Also, the new action plan involves improving military transport infrastructure, new requirements for the fuel supply chain for military vehicles, digitalizing the coordination of arms supplies, strengthening protection against cyber-attacks and other possible threats, as well as eliminating the risks associated with foreign direct investment in critical infrastructure.
In addition, the project will allow the EU to strengthen military cooperation with NATO countries.
