Dominicana reports first case of infection with monkeypox

The first case of infection with monkeypox in Dominicana was recorded on Wednesday, the country's Health Minister Daniel Rivera said, Report informs, citing TASS.

"After studying the clinical symptoms and PCR results, our labs assure that ... the patient has monkeypox," the minister was quoted as saying by the local newspaper, El Dia.

The infected is reportedly a 25-year-old resident of the country.
