Denmark to lift all coronavirus restrictions from September

Denmark will lift all restrictions imposed in connection with the coronavirus pandemic from September 10, Report informs referring to TASS.

“The epidemic is under control. We have record-high vaccination rates,” Health Minister Magnus Heunicke said in a statement.

Denmark has one of the highest rates of coronavirus immunization globally, with four out of five Danes aged twelve and older fully vaccinated. Therefore, the government no longer classifies COVID as a ‘publicly critical disease.’

“The government has promised not to keep these measures in force for longer than necessary, and we are now in this situation. But even if at the moment everything looks good, we have not yet overcome the epidemic,” the minister continued. He noted that if the situation worsens, the restrictions may have to be reintroduced.

The number of patients in Danish hospitals with COVID-19 on August 26 was 127. The total number of deaths from complications after infection reached 2,573.
