Denmark to allocate $18.7M to renewable energy project in Africa

Denmark is providing 128 million kroner ($18.7 million) to finance the Accelerated Partnership for Renewables in Africa (APRA) project, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said at the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), Report informs.

"Many countries in Africa are suffering from climate change while their emissions are low. We do it for them," she said.

According to the Danish Prime Minister, helping African countries in the green transition will also help reduce the flow of refugees to Europe.
