Death toll rises to 16 in US-UK bombing campaign on Yemen

The death toll from US and British airstrikes on Yemen on the night between Thursday and Friday has reached 16, according to a statement by Yahya Saria, the military spokesperson for the Houthi rebel movement "Ansar Allah," which controls northern Yemen.

"The raids on Hodeidah killed 16 people and wounded 41, including civilian casualties during strikes on civilian targets, such as the Hodeidah radio station building in front of As-Sawra Hospital and the Coast Guard building in the port of As-Salif," the statement noted.

Earlier reports indicated that US and British fighter jets conducted 13 strikes on targets in three Yemeni provinces, including four strikes on the capital, Sanaa, following a series of attacks by the Houthis on ships in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea.
