David DePape sentenced to life in prison for violent assault on Nancy Pelosi's husband

David DePape, the man who violently attacked Paul Pelosi, husband of former US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, in their San Francisco home in 2022, has been sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.

The 44-year-old assailant, who broke into the Pelosi residence and struck Paul Pelosi on the head with a hammer, was already serving a 30-year prison term after being convicted last year of attempted kidnapping of a government official and assault on an immediate family member of a government official.

DePape will continue serving his sentence in a California state prison.
