All eight D-8 member states that signed the Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) have completed its ratification, 20 years after it was signed in Bali in May 2006.
According to the D-8 press service, cited by Report, the process was completed after Egypt ratified the agreement.
The organization said the move is expected to give fresh impetus to efforts to increase trade among member states to $500 billion by 2030.
Egypt ratified the document on June 16, 2026, and officially submitted its instrument of ratification to the D-8 Secretariat in October.
Thus, all eight original signatories - Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Türkiye - have completed the relevant procedures.
The agreement provides for preferential reductions in customs tariffs, improved market access and simplified trade procedures.
