Czech Republic to release COVID vaccine

Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš said that serial production of the vaccine against coronavirus and its supply to the global market is expected to begin this April at the plant of the US pharmaceutical company Novavax, located near Prague, Report informs, referring to TASS.

The vaccine is being tested in the UK. Its efficiency is about 90 percent. Novavax plans to release approximately one billion doses of the vaccine this year, with the Czech Republic to produce a significant part of this amount.

Babiš also said the republic, which began inoculating its citizens on December 27 last year, had received 372,765 doses of the vaccine.

The country imports the vaccines produced by the US company Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech, as well as the US company Moderna.
