A Madrid court began investigating Begona Gomez, the wife of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, after receiving a complaint from the Clean Hands trade union, Report informs referring to TASS.
The Madrid investigative court initiated investigative actions against Begona Gomez for alleged exploitation of connections and corruption in business. The progress of the investigation has been declared secret.
“On a day like today, and after the news that I learned about, despite everything, I continue to believe in the judiciary of my country,” the prime minister said while speaking in parliament.
According to El Confidencial newspaper, the investigation is focused on Gomez’s relationships with several private companies that received funds and public contracts from the government.
