China promises high status to Hong Kong under “one state, two systems” principle 

The Chinese central government intends to maintain Hong Kong’s high level of autonomy, adhering to the “one state, two systems” principle, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said Thursday, Report informs, citing TASS.

According to him, the people of Hong Kong will have special rights based on the “one state, two systems” principle, will use a high degree of autonomy of the special administrative region.

Speaking about the reforms in the electoral system, Li Keqiang noted that this step aims to maintain the “one state, two systems” principle.
