China imposes restrictions on supplies to 28 US defense companies

China has imposed restrictions on dual-use goods supplies to 28 US defense companies. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce announced on Thursday a ban on supplying dual-use goods to 28 US defense companies, Report informs citing the South China Morning Post.

"To ensure national security and interests, the authorities took these measures based on the export control law and regulation of dual-use goods exports," the ministry's statement said.

It is specified that the authorities took this step partly to comply with nuclear non-proliferation controls.

Among the companies subject to trade restrictions are General Dynamics, Boeing Defence, Space & Security, Lockheed Martin Corporation, and Raytheon Missiles & Defence.

Additionally, on Thursday, China's Ministry of Commerce released another statement declaring that dozens of foreign defense companies have been added to unreliable contractor lists due to arms sales to Taiwan authorities.

The US provides support to Taiwan authorities in the military sphere. In turn, China consistently opposes American weapons supplies, viewing them as violations of PRC sovereignty principles and the One China policy.
