US Central Command (CENTCOM) has changed a map of the Middle East featured in a post about its commander's regional tour.
According to Report, the change is evident from the current version of the CENTCOM post on X and screenshots of the original version saved by social media users.
In the original map, the Gaza Strip and the West Bank appeared visually as part of Israeli territory. In the updated version, the boundaries around Israel and the Palestinian territories are depicted differently.
The post marked the conclusion of a 10-day Middle East tour by CENTCOM commander Admiral Brad Cooper. During the trip, Cooper visited Bahrain, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, and also the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln in the Arabian Sea.
CENTCOM has not publicly explained why the map was changed.
