Canada to allocate up to $2B to strengthen its military presence in Europe

Canada plans to spend $1.9 billion to increase its military presence in Europe in 2023-2029, Report informs referring to the published draft budget of the country.

According to the data specified in the document, $304.4 million are allocated for these purposes in the 2023-2024 financial year, $585.4 million in 2024-2025, and $636.4 million in 2025-2026.

Over the next three years, Canada plans to spend $129.9 million on strengthening its military presence in Central and Eastern Europe, including Latvia.
