California prepares refrigerated trucks for COVID-19 victims

California has prepared refrigerated trucks and bags for the bodies of those who died from complications caused by the coronavirus, Report informs, citing the ABC7.

California has placed an order for 5,000 additional body bags and has 60 53-foot refrigerators on standby in hospitals around the state. It comes as daily coronavirus deaths are four times higher than they were one month ago.

In November, it became known that hundreds of bodies of those who died during the coronavirus outbreak in the spring of 2020 are still stored in refrigerated trucks in the US state of New York. According to the city's Senior Medical Examiner's Office, many of the bodies belong to people whose families have not yet been found or whose relatives cannot afford a proper burial.
