British PM cancels visit to India

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has canceled a visit to India on April 26 due to a sharp rise in the number of cases and deaths from COVID-19 in India.

According to Report, Boris Johnson told the British press said that the refusal to go to India was "the only smart step" amid growing public concern.

According to Boris Johnson, he intends to hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi via video conference: "Unfortunately, Modi and I have decided to cancel the visit.

"Given the increase in coronavirus infections in India, I think it is more sensible to delay the trip," noted the British PM.

Johnson also stressed that Britain values relations with India.
