The head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, held telephone conversations with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, during which he expressed hope that Turkiye would use its influence on Russia to stop the war, Report informs.
"Talked with Mevlut Cavusoglu. I underlined Turkish role to secure UN deal on export of Ukrainian grain and mitigate impact of Russian aggression against Ukraine. Discussed impact of EU sanctions and expressed hope that Turkiye can use its influence over Russia to stop senseless war," he tweeted.
