Baltic countries call on Germany to provide Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine

The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Edgars Rinkevich, Estonia Urmas Reinsalu, and Lithuania Gabrielus Landsbergis call on Germany to provide Ukraine with Leopard 2 battle tanks.

Report informs, citing UNIAN, that Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevich said this on Twitter on behalf of the three countries.

"We, the foreign ministers of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, now call on Germany to provide Ukraine with Leopard tanks. This is necessary for a quick end to Russian aggression, aid to Ukraine and restoration of peace in Europe," the ministers said in a joint statement.

The officials emphasized that "Germany, as a leading European state, bears a special responsibility in this matter."
