Australia: Sydney to Melbourne XPT train derails - PHOTO

Two people have died, and many have been injured after a high-speed Sydney to Melbourne train derailed tonight.

Ambulance Victoria confirmed the deaths and injuries at Wallan, about 45km north of Melbourne.

The tracks buckled, and two carriages hurled several meters from the mainline.

About 160 passengers were on the train when it derailed at approximately 7.45 pm.
