At least 9 injured in explosion at firefighting school in Poland

At least nine people suffered varying degrees of burns after an explosion at a State Fire Service school in the western Polish city of Poznan, a representative of the educational institution, Rafal Wypych, told the RMF24 radio station, Report informs referring to TASS.

“The explosion occurred during classes on the subject “Physical chemistry of combustion and extinguishing agents using a device that determines the ignition temperature of a liquid,” he noted.

According to the radio station, 20 students and two teachers attended the classes. As a result of the explosion, nine people received burns of the first and second degree, of which eight were transported to a local hospital.

Police and prosecutors arrived at the scene and are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
