Around fifty civilians killed in simultaneous attacks in Mali 

At least 48 people were killed in simultaneous attacks carried out in four Malian villages in the commune of Ouatagouna, Ansongo circle, (north) on the night from Sunday to Monday, Report informs, citing foreign media.

The local authority said the attack was carried out by heavily armed individuals, killing dozens of civilians.

“The attack takes place at night, and the army does not come out at night. It is this Monday morning that a mission of the defense and security forces was dispatched to the scene,” explains Oumar Kida, deputy prefect of Ansongo.

An unfortunate and sad situation, said Kida, joined by Anadolu.

Mahamane Bacala, first deputy mayor of the commune of Ouatagouna, explains for his part that the attack targeted four villages, namely, Karou 17 dead, Dirgua (7), Deouteguef (14) and Ouatagouna (10) ”.

Mali has been in the grip of recurrent attacks since 2012. The deployment of UN and foreign forces since 2013 has not stabilized the country.
