Around 35 people missing in US floods

At least 35 people remain unaccounted for in Haywood County, North California, in the floods triggered by the Fred tropical storm, Report informs, citing TASS.

Police officers say they received the first reports about the increasing water levels on Tuesday afternoon, after which the rescue teams were dispatched to the affected areas. Evacuation started right away.

Fifty-four people stuck in the disaster area have been rescued, while 35 residents went missing. Rescuers work to find them.

According to the information, Fred is moving northeast at a speed of 28 km/h. The wind gusts reach 11 meters per second.
