Bolivia has received 1 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine donated by Argentina, Bolivian President Luis Arce said on Twitter, Report informs, citing TASS.
He thanked the president and the people of Argentina for donating the vaccine, pledging to beat the pandemic together.
Argentina has previously donated vaccines to several countries as the republic stockpiled on jabs necessary to immunize the entire population.
According to the Bolivian Health Ministry, since October, the country has seen considerable growth in coronavirus cases. Over 560,000 people have contracted COVID-19, and more than 19,000 people succumbed to the deadly pathogen since the outset of the pandemic.
