Algeria opposes possible military intervention in Niger

Algeria opposes possible military intervention in the Republic of the Niger, where the head of state, Mohamed Bazoum, was removed from power as a result of a mutiny on July 26, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune said in an interview on national television.

"Possible military intervention in Niger is a direct threat to Algeria, and we completely and categorically reject it. There was a coup. And we confirmed that we stand for constitutional legality. We must return to this legality. We are ready to help them," the head of state stressed.
