4.8 magnitude quake hits California

An earthquake of magnitude 4.8 has occurred in California near the border with Mexico, Report informs referring to the US Geological Survey.

The earthquake was recorded at 7:43 UTC 12 kilometers east of the settlement of Ocotillo, which is located near the southern border of the US. The outbreak lay at a depth of 9.6 kilometers.

There was no information about possible casualties or damage.
