300 messenger channels, 4 Darknet marketplaces sell drugs in Kazakhstan

The Financial Monitoring Agency of Kazakhstan is checking Telegram messenger channels, social networks and ad services for the distribution of narcotic drugs and precursors, Report informs referring to Kazakh media.

About 300 channels in instant messengers, 4 largest Darknet marketplaces where prohibited funds are sold, came into their field of view.

“As many as 80 users of Telegram channels were identified and were constantly advertising and selling narcotic and psychotropic substances in the country.”

As a result of the monitoring of the Kazakhstan segment of the Internet, three large platforms for the sale of drugs were identified with a total number of participants of almost 35,000 people.

“We were able to identify almost 10,000 people who are potential drug users.”

The analysis showed that more than 50% of consumers are in the cities of Astana, Almaty and Almaty region.
