15 dead due to mystery illness in Tanzania

Dozens of people in Tanzania have contracted an unknown disease, which killed at least 15 people, Report informs, citing Anadolu Agency.

According to the representatives of the country's healthcare system, the epidemic causes vomiting of blood. More than 50 infected patients have been hospitalized.

"The disease has not yet spread; there has been a mass infection in only one administrative district," said Felista Kisandu, chief physician of the Chunya district.

A group of medical experts was sent to the area to assess patients' conditions and investigate the causes of mass infection.

The doctor noted that they dispatched various blood samples from patients to state laboratories to check for mercury traces.
