Chairperson of the Azerbaijani Parliament Sahiba Gafarova is on a working trip to the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, to participate in the 14th Summit of Women Speakers of Parliaments.
The delegations participating in the summit arrived in the city of Samarkand, Report informs referring to the Press and Public Relations Department of the Parliament.
Speaker Sahiba Gafarova, Chairperson of the Senate of the Uzbek Parliament Tanzila Norbaeva, Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Martin Chungong, heads of parliaments participating in the summit and the delegations headed by them got acquainted with the historical and cultural sights of Samarkand.
The guests visited Ulugbek Observatory, Khoja Doniyor Mausoleum, Shakhi-Zinda Mausoleum, Bibikhanum Mausoleum, Registan Square and Amir Teymur Mausoleum. There, the members of the delegations were given detailed information about the historical sites.
Sahiba Gafarova gave an interview to the Uzbek media.
