Parliamentary Committee Chairman: The number of judges has doubled in comparison to 2007

Baku. 2 November. REPORT.AZ/ "Compared with 2007, the number of judges has doubled twice. In addition, legislative and institutional measures have been taken within the framework of judicial-legal reforms," Ali Huseynli, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Policy and State Building said.

Report informs that Huseynli spoke at today’s plenary session of Milli Majlis.

He noted that recent assignments and recommendations by President Ilham Aliyev on strengthening of the fight against corruption and negative cases were not excluded from the judicial system: "During the activity of the Judicial Legal Council, disciplinary proceedings were initiated against more than 230 judges, more than 100 judges have been removed from the judiciary system due to violations of law and other negative cases."
