The Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan has adopted a bill to suspend inspections of private business entities in Azerbaijan for another year, Report informs, adding that the draft amendments to the law "On the suspension of inspections in the field of entrepreneurship" were discussed at today's parliamentary session.
In keeping with the current law, the term for suspending the inspections in the field of entrepreneurship expired on January 1, 2022.
The amendment provides for an extension of this period until January 1, 2023. Throughout this period, only tax audits and checks can be carried out in a number of cases when there is a threat to the life and health of people, to the security and economic interests of the state.
The list of these cases is determined by the relevant executive authority. The provisions of the law do not apply to inspections conducted by the Prosecutor-General's Office in connection with the investigation of corruption crimes.
An entrepreneur may file a complaint with the relevant executive authority, the prosecutor's office, as well as administrative and judicial proceedings against inspections conducted in violation of the requirements of this law.
