MPs propose to hold hearings on France's genocide in Algeria in Azerbaijani Parliament

France has no right to talk about racial discrimination after the atrocities committed against various countries throughout history, Azerbaijani MP Ramin Mammadov said at the plenary session of the parliament on November 16, Report informs.

"The question of holding hearings on the Algerian genocide in the Azerbaijani parliament can be considered," he said.

According to him, in the resolution of the French Senate dated November 15, 2022, absurd claims and statements were made against Azerbaijan, demonstrating the biased position of Paris against Azerbaijan. The country whose land was occupied for 30 years is accused of military aggression. However, it is Armenia that has violated all legal norms and all conditions of the November 10 declaration:

"Even after the Patriotic War, Armenia continues to bury mines in our territories and does not provide maps. The adoption of such a document by the French Senate against the background of the events against our country reflects the true attitude of this country to international law. France has no right to talk about racial discrimination after the atrocities committed against various countries throughout history. The question of holding hearings on the Algerian genocide in the Azerbaijani Parliament can be considered. As a result, those who voted for this resolution, which was adopted by a majority vote, voted against the participation of France in the negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia in the processes in the South Caucasus."

On November 15, the French Senate passed a resolution entitled "The application of sanctions against Azerbaijan and its immediate withdrawal from the territory of Armenia, the demand to comply with the ceasefire agreement dated November 9, 2020, and the promotion of all initiatives aimed at establishing lasting peace between the two countries."
