Return to Western Azerbaijan should be brought to global attention through foreign non-governmental organizations and international institutions, Azerbaijani MP Azay Guliyev said during parliamentary hearings on the safe and dignified return to Western Azerbaijan, Report informs.
Azay Guliyev proposed appointing special representatives of the Initiative Group for Return to Western Azerbaijan to tackle this issue.
"It is necessary to appoint a rapporteur of the Initiative Group and document the acts of vandalism committed in Western Azerbaijan. The rapporteur should present these facts and materials to other countries, parliaments, and NGOs. Also, a special representative can be elected on the issue of return to Western Azerbaijan. This issue can be kept on the agenda constantly, referring to international pacts, conventions, and other documents," he said.
