The Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani parliament) has approved the agreement “On cooperation between the government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the government of the Republic of Turkiye in the field of quarantine and plant protection,” Report informs.
The agreement, consisting of 15 articles, was signed on November 4, 2022 in Baku.
The purpose of the agreement is to develop cooperation between the two countries in the field of plant quarantine and protection, to facilitate trade and exchange of crop products.
In accordance with the document, the export, import and transit of quarantine materials is carried out through the checkpoint in the manner prescribed by the legislation of the states; if quarantine pests are detected during phytosanitary control, the importing party shall take measures to eliminate the infection, neutralize the infected products or return them to the exporting party.
The document was put to the vote and adopted.
