Milli Majlis considering holding meetings on Karabakh conflict

The recent statement of the Armenian Foreign Minister is not the first provocation. Armenia has always done its utmost to maintain the status quo.

Chairman of the Committee of the Azerbaijani Parliament on International and Inter-Parliamentary Relations Samad Seyidov made the remarks at Milli Majlis's plenary meeting on Friday, Report says.

According to him, Armenians even overthrew their president, attacked the parliament, and resorted to all kinds of crimes against humanity to preserve the status quo.

"When all these were not enough, they tried to refrain from negotiating. In Paris, Kocharyan asked for a five-minute break and then fled the scene. Today, Pashinyan pursues such criminal policy in another way," Seyidov said.

The committee chair noted that the world community did not recognize the illegal elections held in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. "Upon approval of Azerbaijan's principle of a step-by-step solution, Armenia tried to disrupt the talks. We call on the OSCE Minsk Group to express its position in this regard," he said.

Seyidov also suggested holding meetings in parliamentary committees on the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict with the presence of Foreign Ministry representatives.

Speaker Sahiba Gafarova said the parliament would consider the proposal.
